Please see below for information from NCDOT regarding an upcoming road closure for a bridge replacement project on Mt. Harmony Road.
We have an active bridge replacement project in Burke County that will require the closure of SR 1623 (Mount Harmony Rd.).
The contractor plans to close the road on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, and the road should be open to traffic by Saturday, October 15th, 2022.
During construction of the proposed structure, SR 1623 (Mount Harmony Rd) will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will be maintained on the following detour: from SR 1627 (Texas fish camp Rd.) To US70 to SR 1618 (Icard school Rd) to SR 1621 (Icard Rhodhiss rd.) To SR 1623 (Mount Harmony Rd.).
Local access to all residences and businesses will be maintained between closures points at all times during construction.
