Burke County’s Response to COVID-19

•Burke County is currently at 8074 positive cases. These are cumulative cases for the county. If you want to see a breakdown of the cases, please go visit the https://www.burkenc.org/dashboard webpage•Para español llame al 764-9150 y presione el número dos. Si nadie contesta deje un corto mensaje con su nombre y numero de teléfono.

The numbers continue to stay high because of the holiday gatherings and travel.

Carolinas Healthcare System Blue Ridge is in the process of scheduling those aged 65+ for community clinics but can only schedule weekly based on the amount of vaccine determined to receive so it will take a while to vaccinate this group based on receiving limited supplies of the vaccine and the large demand expressed among residents.

Everyone 65+ interested in scheduling an appointment will need to call the Community Call Center at 385-4454 and keep calling until you get through to make an appointment.

We are asking that everyone please be patient and understand that everyone who wishes to receive a vaccine will eventually get one, but it will not happen in a couple weeks. There is more demand for the vaccine than there is supply to anywhere in the State or nation.

We appreciate your patience as we try to vaccinate those eligible and interested as fast as possible.

To find out more information about the State’s COVID-19 vaccination schedule please visit the Burke County COVID-19 webpage at www.burkenc.org/COVID-19
