Burke County Reports Two Additional Deaths

Morganton, NC: Burke County Public Health was notified and is reporting the sixty-second and sixty-third deaths in Burke County. Both are COVID-19 related deaths. The sixty-second individual in their 70’s was hospitalized but later died from COVID related complications. The sixty-third individual in their 80’s was not hospitalized but later died from COVID related complications. To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the patients will be released.

“Our hearts are heavy to report this sad news. We want to extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of these individuals”, said Burke County Health Director Rebecca McLeod. “The health of our residents is a top priority of Public Health and its partners. We continue this battle on all fronts and plead with our residents to keep up the preventive measures with the 3 W’s to help slow the spread of this virus.”
