An impressive number of volunteers represented the following subdivision: East Shores, Holiday Shores, Laurel Pointe, and Mallard Cove.
All efforts of this Cleanup help to promote a cleaner Lake, which serves not only for recreation and tourism in Burke County but also for drinking water in Western NC.
Unfortunately some volunteers observed that the day after the Cleanup roads had already been littered with freshly used cans, bottles, and paper and plastic cups. If you observe anyone littering in the area, please call to report the offender to the NC Department of Transportation’s Swat-A-Litterbug Program. A report may be filed by calling NCDOT Customer Service Officer at 877-368-4968 or online at the NCDOT website.
We thank all who supported this Cleanup and urge everyone to strive to keep our roads and Lake free of litter all year.
