Adult Care & Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee
Several vacancies exist. Initial terms of appointment are for one (1) year. Training is required and provided by the Western Piedmont Council of Governments through the Aging Support Program. Contact Christina Franklin, the Regional Ombudsman, at 828.485.4213 for more information.
Juvenile Crime Prevention Council

BURKE COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
Applications are being accepted for the Burke Co. Parks & Recreation Commission. Preferred applicants reside in the following elementary school districts and are actively involved in youth sports:

Council on Aging
Applications are being accepted for several seats on the Council on Aging. The term is for three (3) years. Contact Roxanne Powell at the Senior Center at 828-764-9390 for more information.
Burke County Board of Health
Applications are being accepted for several seats on the Board of Health, an 11-member board that governs public health in Burke County. Pharmacists, veterinarians, optometrists, restaurateurs and citizens are encouraged to apply. BoH meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of even numbered months at the Health Department at 5:00 p.m. The term is for three (3) years. Partner’s CFAC (Consumer and Family Advisory Committee)
